Tiger Tails

On a hot sunny day in Jim Corbett at 2 pm in the afternoon, we were all dressed and ready to go for our safari. We were waiting for our ride to the zone Phatto. In fact this was our last safari on the trip and we hoped to see a tiger. As soon as the jeep came to take  us from our hotel, the car sped along the bumpy roads and through the lush green canopies. As soon as we reached the entrance gate, we were allotted an experienced guide. We entered the gate and she said, “45 mins before you’ll came we saw a  tiger with its cubs”. Our hopes were high. We had all our fingers and toes crossed. We saw a watering hole  and on the outskirts we saw a dancing peacock.

To our surprise we saw a magnificent male tiger sitting in the low lying grasslands. When it got so much of attention, it got up with pride just like Sher Khan and went back in to the foliage. We were on our way back and to our luck we spotted another female tiger sitting next to a watering hole. It stayed there for more then an hour. I was smiling ear to ear. This sight was an amazing experience. We were engaged with the jungle. I came back to the hotel and was totally exhausted. But this experience is the one that I will cherish forever.
