Last week I read a famous book named ‘Molala Yousafzai,’ It is a true tale of a young Pakistani girl who stood up for women education.
Riffling through the pages, I was lost in deep contemplation. The way Malala valued education touched my heart. All the girls in the Swat Valley, like Malala had to risk their lives to go to school. I did feel guilty that these days we take our school for granted.
Malala was just a teenager clad in salwar kurta with a hijab adorning her head. I wondered she never felt like doing what typical teenagers do like hanging out with friends, being glued to the screen and indulging in shopping.’ What a matured girl she is!’
My eyes brimmed with tears how brutally she was gun shot in the head. She was in the Intensive Care Unit for a long period. Despite all the pain and challenges she continued her work. I keep my fingers cross to meet her in the near future. The only question I have – Where did you get this courage and resilience ? I really look up to Malala as a role model.
