Rosa Parks was an African – American civil rights activist. She was born on February 4, 1913 in Tuskegee, Alabama. She worked as a seamstress at a local clothing store in Montgomery.
She was a simple ordinary woman from a humble background. Her kind eyes reflected compassion and empathy. She did not look like a fighter, but she fought against racial discrimination in a non violent way. She had a calm demeanor .
As a child, she faced a lot of injustice on a daily basis. The white and the black children were treated differently. While the white children had more resources, and the black children were denied. Despite the challenges, she believed in doing the right thing.
She was tired of the segregation and unfair laws of the American society. She took a bold stand and refused to give up her seat to a white passenger.
Even though she was a simple woman, she set a prime example that every person has a voice of his own and can stand for justice and equality. Throughout her life she was a stalwart supporter of an egalitarian society.
